We stand true to our word.

We’re providing a sigh of relief to those impacted by flooding in Vermont.

We extend our deepest sympathies to all Vermonters who are courageously recovering from Hurricane Beryl’s torrential rain and flooding that devastated many communities throughout the state on July 10-11, 2024.

When the unthinkable happens, we stand true to our word to provide relief when our policyholders need it most. As requested by the State of Vermont Department of Financial Regulation, Insurance Bulletin No. 232, we are pleased to adopt several measures to protect policyholders who sustained property damage, injuries, or loss of lives as a result of the recent flooding. Those measures are as follows:

  • Until September 10, 2024, no policy cancellations or non-renewals will be issued to impacted policyholders by Patriot Insurance Company. This applies to both personal (home, auto) and commercial policyholders.
  • Notices of pending cancellation for non-pay issued on or after July 10, 2024, have been withdrawn, and policies that did cancel for non-payment on or after July 10, 2024, will be reinstated with no lapse in coverage.
  • Once the moratorium is lifted on September 10, 2024, any policies in a non-pay status will be issued a notice of pending cancellation due to non-payment.

If you have any questions about these relief options, please contact your independent insurance agent or our Billing Services team directly at 844‑488‑9777.
